Who Am I?
My name is Ruth Jimenez, I am the creator of this blog. I am currently studying Food and Nutrition with the University of Alabama, on my way to become a registered dietitian. This is a distance-learning program, I actually live in central Texas. My partner is in the US Army and I have followed her first to Fort Campbell and now to Fort Hood.
What Is This Blog About?
What started as a desire to simply document my new health journey on Instagram turned into genuine love for sharing knowledge, experiences, and support with others.
My intent with this blog is to celebrate food. I want you to feel good about all foods, no guilt associated with eating. I do not believe that weight is the best measurement of health but instead I think it’s important to incorporate health-improving habits into one’s life.
Lastly, I have been on an intuitive eating journey. I am trying to get away from the clean plate mentality I was raised with as well as completely reject the sneaky diet mentality. Personally, my focus is to nurture a positive relationship with food and exercise.
I will continue to create recipes and share my nutrition knowledge as I complete my education plan. Hopefully within in a few years I will have reached my professional goal of obtaining the registered dietitian credential, becoming a food and nutrition expert. Wish me luck!
